HAPPY FOURTH!

I am currently off on a mini-vacation with the husband, which we both desperately need. It is hard for us to live in a desert. We grew up with vegetation growing around us, and we miss it terribly amid the sand and rocks. Thank goodness greenery isn’t too far away.

With that being said, I want to wish you all a very Happy Fourth of July. Remember this day as the day the Colonies declared their independence from England, not the day that Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum beat the alien invaders 😉 I hope you take this time to enjoy family and friends, a little BBQ deliciousness, a few fireworks, and the freedoms Colonial soldiers (and those who’ve come after) have won, and kept, for you. Please take a moment to thank a veteran or service member for their service to this country. Remember, freedom is never free.

  1. We visited the Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl and said prayers for the MIAs and KIAs listed on the marble walls of the squares. 29,000 men in three wars. Freedom costs an immense amount. Your father was surprise more people weren’t there. We had the place nearly to ourselves.

Enjoy your holiday, sweetie, and hope you get back to the base safe and sound and refreshed.

    1. So glad you spent some time up there! We’ve been watching a WWII series on Hulu called Battlefront. It’s been very interesting.

      1. When you see the scope of the battles in the Pacific, it’s amazing we won at all. So grateful for our brave men who fought and gave their lives.

I’ll send a photo we took for you and Rick.
